Dave Cohen ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) was saying something along these lines:

This shot had me staring at it for a long, long time. The compression of
the 500mm lens is amazing, and yet the shot seems to have a very "normal"
perspective to it. The icing on the cake is the neat linear pattern
created by all three engines running cab forward, and all those matching
racks. A mixed just wouldn't have looked as neat. I'd love to see it
under full sunlight. I can't make up my mind whether or not the signal
cutting the frame in half bothers me or not ... but I doubt that you
could set up that shot any other way. Sometimes you just have to deal
with what you have to work with and make the best of it.

At first, I found myself wishing the signal was lit. But then I was kind
of glad it wasn't, because that red beacon right in the middle of the
frame might have been a bit too much. Good thing that track circuit isn't
6 feet shorter!

Nice shot, Bill!
