I'm curious about the Victorville area and think it's got some
really neat rock formations. The picture in TRAINS 1997 calendar of
this area really impressed me and I had wanted to try and duplicate it
(more or less) but was more than a little confused about were to access
the track set up for the shot. It seemed that the only place I saw a
similar rock formation was near a narrow road with three thousand power
lines cluttering the shot. I also found a spot towards the east side of
town that had a bridge or to near the track (green bridge?) but was
unsure of the security of the area. What are the areas to watch out for
(crime) between San Berno and Barstow? Blue Cut seemed like a teenager
hangout for the local teen railfan.
Where do the LA and/or Southern California railfan go to shoot
picture in Cajon when they shot the standard locations to death (still
great spots for us in flyover territory and the vacationing European
railfan)?
