The TRAINS calendar shot was taken at the Upper Narrows a few hundred
yards north (railroad east) of the private grade crossing at the Frost
crossovers on the Cajon Pass side of Victorville. You get there by
driving the access road, or walking, from the natural flyovers at Frost.
See my article "The Other Side of Cajon" in PRN a zillion years ago for
more info.

Tracks run n/s here and the Mojave river flows north, so what is called
the "Upper Narrows" would seem to be the lower narrows.

The Trains calendar shot was a 300mm shot in the dead of winter, midday.

My favorite "unknown" shots in Cajon include the springtime afternoon
shot of eastbounds at Devore, the Alray Tunnel shots (winter-spring am),
am shots of eastbounds on the South Track, dead-of-summer pm long-lens
shots of westbounds from the hills above Lugo. There are also a ton of
different angles around Summit and Blue Cut if you are willing to
explore, walk or 4wd. Hint: there are some great shots to be had by
walking, climbing and driving AWAY from the tracks.
