I recently switched to the Arca-Swiss B1 and Really Right Stuff release plates. It is rock solid, silky smooth, and setup is quick. Now I don't know what I would do without it. I will admit the initial outlay is high but in the long run it is worth it. The Arca-Swiss is a high quality product that will last for a long time. I would suggest that anyone interested in ballheads get a Really Right Stuff catalog. It is very well done and includes a ballhead test.
