It will take a LOT more than just black and white slide film in a camera
to replicate that "old look" to steam locomotive photos.  Those old
photos were printed in a darkroom where the photographer controlled print
contrast, dodged-out the shadows, burned-in the highlights, and sometimes
added fluffy white clouds to a naked or overcat sky from a second
negative.

I would gladly have just one, good old b&w steam photo than 1,000 slides
shot today.
