True but that's not what I think Gregg is talking about. Gregg says the
ductwork is not support by the plastic pipe. So then why is the pipe bowed?
I'm thinking some part is resting on the pipe causing the bow or better
pushing it down. IMHO that is the definition of pipe supporting the duct.
So I says no even if it's within the guidelines Thom speaks of. Think of it
this way how are you going to defend yourself if this coincidently breaks in
this area. I can almost guarantee the owner's insurance "special expert" is
going to call it this way. You also have vibration rubbing against the pipe
when the HVAC is running. Real risk? I don't know but I do know I don't
want to assume it.

Blazemaster (TYCO) installation instructions & tech handbook Jan 2005 lists
Permissible bending deflections in table "J" based upon size of pipe and
length.
Example: 1" cpvc is allowed to bend or deflect 6.3" in 5'-0" (5'-0" also
just happens to be the max hanger spacing for 1".
Sounds like you have a compound deflection (bow) so 1/2 the allowed would
seem appropriate.
