We stay at Marriott properties because they're all sprinklered and
because if we can log just 11,217 more nights' I get my choice of a golf
bag or a free weekend on the beach in Hollywood, FL (subject to
availability).

I'd be remiss if I didn't note that Marriott brands are sprinklered
world-wide. Unless you're in one of the oldest 10% of the Residence Inns
they're still working out of the system, my understanding and experience
has been that they're all sprinklered. Our experience in sprinklering a
lot of their buildings is that their own detailed spec requires #13,
even if #13R could be applied. AN OWNER DEMANDING MORE THAN MINIMUM
CODE!!!

We tend to stay in Marriotts as a "thank you" for the work we do for
them, a thank you recognizing the $ they've invested in R&D partnering
with OUR industry, and because we know they'll have sprinklers in it.

This message is certainly not intended to be a plug for a commercial
enterprise; it is recognition of the only hospitality chain that pays
more than lip service to our industry that I'm aware of, and it makes
staying in sprinklered hotels very easy.

Let me again urge y'all to DO SOMETHING to improve the status quo.
Like voting, if you don't, you're part of the problem and should lose
your right to bitch. How would you feel if you noted a deficiency, then
there was a fire and someone died? Regardless of whether you are a
professional and therefore have a legal liability, or if you're like me,
just CET and not a "professional", you'd still have to live with knowing
you MIGHT have been able to prevent it.

Recently we ended up staying in an unsprinklered 7 story hotel.
I'll omit who set it up - it's too ironic.
It was on the USFA list as SPRINKLERED.
Got in our room on 5th, no A.S.
