Tyco has a new institutional sprinkler that is coming on line right now
for later-this-year release, I belive. They showed it at the NFPA show
in early June and the thing that makes it especially useful in detention
cells is that the escutcheon is of a "locked-in" design. The sprinkler
can't be hit or picked at nearly as easily as others.

Subject: Institutional Sprinklers

Problem; we have some institutional sprinklers in a holding cell at a
local
jail that repeatedly are getting knocked out by the temporary inmates.
Has
anybody come up with a good solution to this problem from our end;
specialty
sprinkler guards or anything?

Thank you in advance,
