Just a follow-up for you nice folks on my review meeting with the chief. We set a noon meeting for today under the pretense that I needed him to see some of the revisions the plan reviewer was looking for. He had told me he looked over them briefly yesterday when he called me back but today said he barely looked at them. He's brand new, just recently promoted, taking classes and trying to settle in. I think he said he was a Capt. before. I showed him the list it items that were written on the cover sheet and then all the comments on the hydraulics and plans. I asked if he was proficient in plan review and he confessed he was not which is why he sent them to this guy. I asked who it was and he said it was an engineer he was referred to by another dept. that had used him before. I didn't even need to mention the tone of the review but concentrated on the merits of the comments and then referred to the handbook I brought along with 13 and 13R. We went from item to item and I was able to show and explain what he was looking at and how I felt this review was both unfair and incorrect. I told him a very reputable FPE who is well known in MA offered to review the plans for me, talked bout how long I've know him and projects we have done under his oversight and review. I think I gained more credibility as time went on. I left an hour and 20 minutes later with a permit and his apologies. I'm still going to find out who this person is, I think I do but I found out through some of his comments where he was referred from. We start piping tomorrow. Thanks,
