Have had good luck so far in confirming availability of nearly all the product we're going to need over there. U.S. pumps and controllers included. I would contact the tech services dept. of the larger manufacturers whose products you would like to use or specify and ask them to confirm the distribution and points of contact in the Middle East. Most have a designated rep; I found for my pumps that it's an American rep, so getting pricing and tracking the order will be easy. Remember that if you REALLY want/need a proprietary product for which there isn't a substitute or alternative, you can ship it over with relatively little drama as well.

So it's up to the approving agency, but in our case everyone so far as bought into the notion that if it's listed and per the applicable NFPA standard, it is acceptable. And since everyone knows that California's state healthcare jurisdictional agency is completely over-the-top, we're doing it along those lines. There doesn't appear to be any conflict between the local or national Saudi provisions and what we're using, which is IBC 2006 with significant California amendments.
