Subject: Fuel supply and return lines for diesel fire pump.
I'm looking at a project where the fuel supply and returns lines were put into a shallow trench and routed from the fuel tank to the engine. They then grouted the whole trench to make it level with the floor. So now the fuel lines are inaccessible except at the two ends. Is this a common practice? It is allowed by NFPA 20? NFPA 20 does not specifically address this type of scenario that I can find. I think I'd like to have the lines accessible. Maybe putting checkered plate over the trench but without something to justify it the project is going to want to duplicate the existing condition.
