Subject: RE: sand strainer?

Anyone ever see something like this before?

A single 10 run-in rises up and with a "Y" connection serves (2) 6" Preaction
valves, above the (2) P.A. valves the 6" lines come back together to a single
10" line out to some sort of preaction system somewhere. This was the
engineer's design, done in 1977.

Design criteria is this: "Hazard area: 0.30 gpm/sq. ft, max. head spacing of
90 sq. ft. 17/32" orifice heads." That's all there is.

Any insight or just plain insanity? Was there any restriction on size of P.A.
systems in '77?

This one ought to be fun.
