The biggest issue I see is that if you DON"T install some type of sprinkler
protection, then you arch may not be allowed to use any of the exceptions or
reductions to construction wall ratings ect. Since we usually get into the
job too late to have them re-adjust all their design they've done using
those exceptions and reductions, you will almost always be forced to provide
both sprinkler and FM200 in those areas.

[F] 904.2 Where required. "Automatic fire-extinguishing systems
installed as an alternative to the required automatic sprinkler systems
of Section 903 shall be approved by the fire code official. Automatic
fire-extinguishing systems shall not be considered alternatives for the
purposes of exceptions or reductions allowed by other requirements of
this code."
