11.3.1.2*(2) certainly calls out 8.6.2.1.2 as a method for determining coverage areas for Residential sprinklers... (in 2007, that is)

You guys have all missed a major issue with using 8.6.2.1.2 in 2002 or 2007. The small room rule is for SSU and SSP heads ONLY, not residential heads. So if you're using LFII residential heads in a 256 sqft room, but you're spaced 10' off two walls, you have to use the 40 GPM figure, not 25.6.
