Brian,
I will reply to all- I think other forumites will recognize the situation. I
think this is the same FM as your thread a while back. This FM's problem is
that he/she has the good sense to waive off sprinkler calcs as meaningless.
Fire people want to know what will happen- they do not care about 'IF this
is true at A, THEN this will be true at B', backwards, from somewhere to
where they care about. Since the pump can do 150% of rated, the FM wants to
see 1,875 gpm SOMEWHERE in your calcs! If it is not as simple as this- if
the FM is worried about sucking the main dry or something, then you can only
hope the Required Fire Flow (by others) for the building (at 20 psi) is at
least 1310 gpm.

Subject: Fire Pump's

Good Morning-

I sure could use a little help from some of you fire pump experts out there.
We have a Fire Marshall that is running us through the ringer on a job and
of course the owner is screaming for us to get pipe on the job at the same
time! Would anybody be willing to let me email you a copy of the combined
curve for this job so I can explain what he is looking for? Thanks in
advance!
