A few said yes but I think they are reading into the question a bit.  I say no. 
 FPE should not be construed to mean anything specific within the whole fire 
world including sprinklers.   I know some FPE's that maybe had a class 
someplace that mentioned sprinklers. If one class, even the SFPE class, meets 
your definition of training then sure.

Also keep in mind there are plenty of people who pass another PE exam thus they 
are PE's but practice in fire.  This is perfectly legal in many states.  You 
don't need to pass the FPE exam to practice FPE.  For example in passed the FPE 
to earn my PE lic.  As long as I have training and experience I could legally 
sign EE, SE, ME...drawings.
