AHJ is not satisfied with UL listing on a tank air compressor bought from a local hardware store. As I read the NFPA 13 3.2.3. concerning equipment listing, it shall be "listed". This air compressor performs as it should; however it is not listed for fire sprinkler use, as per AHJ. So my question is this are nitrogen bottles listed for fire sprinkler use as well as their regulators and hoses? Are all shop air compressors listed for fire sprinkler use that we tap into? The UL listing on any air compressor is valid? I didnt feel confident enough to challenge the AHJ (Local Fire Captain) concerning these questions or my interpation of codes. So what will the forum say?
