We have been putting on either a exposed 3-way FDC when 750gpm is required or 2- 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" x 4" dual clapper FDC's then 1000gpm is required. Dewayne

I have seen many buildings with two standpipes and a 2 way FDC. 2007, NFPA 14, 7.12.3 states: Fire Department Connection sizes shall be based on the standpipe system demand and shall include one 2½ in. inlet per every 250 GPM. Phoenix at one time required one inlet per 250 gpm on sprinkler systems until we did a tire warehouse and needed a 14 inlet FDC.
