Now, what has the forum done when the AHJ requires a 5"X4" storz
connection instead? We have only been putting one for standpipes
1000gpm and under.

I really like the "supplemental" thing. If it doesn't have to supply the
full system demand why is a check valve required in the riser when there
is an FDC? End rant.

We frequently calculate manual wet standpipes using 1500 gpm @ 150 psi
at the FDC. We use the NFPA #14 required number of inlets, usually 4.
The City of Phoenix allows 500 gpm per inlet so we put 4 ways on ESFR
systems too.

One of the limiting factors is if FD carries enough equipment on a
pumper truck to connect to 4 inlets.

but the FDC on a sprinkler system is SUPPLEMENTAL and you don't have to
meet the system demand.

Since one has to also calc the system demand from the FDC, has anyone
looked at the maximum flow they can get through a single 2-way FDC and
still meet their design demand?
