Todd,
Simply depends on the construction.  Wood 3' or <, 130 sf; wood > 3', 168
sf; just about everything else, 225 sf.  You can even use EC's.  There is
also the combustible concealed space rule.  These can be used up to 144 sf.

Is there a restriction on the square footage that can be protected by a
system above a drop-out ceiling? A fire marshal was telling me that there is
a restriction in NFPA 13, but I've never heard of it and can't find it.
