Todd, Obviously you are trying to resolve the issue with sprinklers, but Brad has a point; sometimes the space will not accommodate sprinkler protection even if the standard requires it. I was looking at all of the "exceptions" to the sprinkler requirement for concealed spaces. Seems to be more and more of them. Them I looked in the 1996 Handbook, when they weren't even exceptions, but interpretations.

It also requires that sprinklers listed for use in concealed spaces under 36" deep be used. The Viking Coin, Tyco CC1 and 2 and the new Reliable concealed space sprinkler are listed for spaces from 12" to 36" deep. What are you supposed to do when the space is only 9" deep?
