This is a trick question, right? The hallway width should be at least as wide 
as the code minimum width for persons on foot plus the width of whatever the 
maximum size the storage room doors are because that would be the width of 
items that could normally be expected to be in the hallway during dire egress 
conditions. So if the bare bones public hallway minimum width is 44 inches then 
the doors to the storage rooms must be for golf club bags only. This sounds 
like an attempt to skirt the sprinkler standard intent in a building that is 
also skirts the building code intent.
