Removing Dry Sprinklers

We have a freezer that we need to change some Dry Sprinklers. Unfortunately, there is less than 12" clear space above it so no way to get a man above it to wrench the head loose.  When we try to remove it with a head wrench, it refuses to budge.  If we break the head, we will be up the proverbial creek.  Does anyone have any ideas short of disassembling the freezer to change heads?
