We just completed one last month.  It was an attic system installed
sometime in 1983.  Since the standard didn't require what it does today, it
took a little research to create the plaque, based on required area
increases in the standard at that time.  Bottom line, you don't need a flow
test to tell them what the required pressure and flow will be at the base
of riser since that data is a fixed number based on pipe size, remote area
size, required density, orifice size and sprinkler spacing.  The flow test
will only tell you that the water supply is capable of supplying the system
demand.
Now if you need to do one for a storage occupancy, that is a pile I'm not
sure i'd want to step in...
