Yeah, in simple terms, hydraulic design basis is the discharge criteria. So if you are using QR sprinklers in a portion of a building that has mixed uses – say you’re considering the office area (LH) of an industrial building that also has higher hazard fire areas, you can take the area reduction in the offices where that basis of design is applied.
