The ones that come thru Ubuntu repos, yes. Those seem to be considerably older.

Could you tell me where to find an Ubuntu package for spyder v.2.2.4? I don't see it listed on the Spyder site, and I wasn't aware of a PPA for it.

Installing via pip doesn't seem to generate a menu entry, and when running from the command line I get an icon running on the dock for 'Spyder (python 2.7.4)', but when I right-click on it and select 'Lock to launcher', the icon remains but I can't start the program from it.

Thanks,

Monte
