And even if they didn't it wouldn't make you wrong. You are proposing changes to a relational database management system that damage its relationality, on the basis that you don't understand how to use relational databases properly, and it would make your life easier. In defending maintaining the relationality, I don't really need to be right. The onus is on you to justify the change that you propose.
