I can now create playlists with much greater flexibility than before. I have an application (written using LibreOffice Base) that extracts data from the LMS databases, including Custom Browse tags for Classical Works, Ratings and so on. Using ideas from the Custom Browse 'Browse' menu and from the minimserver interface, I can select tags cumulatively. So I can, say, select tracks/works from just a few selected composers, of one or more genres from a list that is selected from only those applicable to the selected composers, and then one or more Album Artists that are included in those Genres for those Composers. I can also limit the track lengths, Ratings, quality and so on. I can then create playlists from the resulting track/work list, in fixed or random order. If I select 'Works' this means that all the tracks from a composition are played in order within that composition, but the compositions are randomly selected.
I have a separate screen for editing the playlist, should I wish to do so, and submitting to LMS where I can play it straight away using the Disks and Folders menu item. I can also play the same playlist using minimserver. The screenshot shows the selection screen. The larger numbers to the right of the selection lists show the order of selection.
