Not really. Think it's just always been thought of as a rather good
filter. Been quite a lot of top end statement cd players used pmd100 or
200. It's actually quite justified john westlake actually investigated
why his old da-capo dac sounded so good and why the hdcd filter was by
far the best. He actually discovered (through test and measurement)
that most off shelf filters were actually making mistakes where as the
pacific microphonics one was very good).

Been looking through options on squeezelite and looks like I can sort my
other problem as well the need to limit max sample to 48 and bit rate to
24max. However looks like I can specify both those things in the
startup command for squeezelite. Will have a dig for hdcd option sure
there will be an on/off for it.

Yes there are some lovely DAC's out there and they do some things better
but there is still something analogue and solid about my dac few seem to
manage. Don't get me wrong I also like stacked crowns and the very few
r2r dacs that exist now. They do some things different. But doing
everything on a shoe string. So I'll stick with my pink triangle
da-capo and cardinal transport for moment.

Also have a dead cardinal I am going to build a DIY vortexbox into.
Just trying to figure out if I can find/hack an async usb with clock
input to work with the da-capo's clock locked card (for seriously low
jitter).

Anyway off to research squeezelite settings
