If you've ticked the "spotify protocol handler" plugin, then you _already_ have the "show 3rd party plugins" ticked, as that plugin is in the listing underneath 3rd party plugins. Don't forget the 3rd step, which is go to mysqueezebox.com on the web, login, go to app gallery, then choose "spotify" app to use (so that it shows up under myapps).
