You're running the released 7.9.0. There haven't been any updates to this build.
That said, how does the server determine when an update is available and why was I getting them fairly regularly before but not now?
There's the release, and there are nightly builds. If you're running a release (stable) version, then you'll only get notified once the next stable release is out. Which has not happened yet.
If you're running nightlies, then you get the notification whenever there's a new build (sometimes daily, sometimes less often).
