Okay, so you are saying that I can expect issues due to my hardware and
with regard to a specific plugin but the actual code of 7.9 is stable?

I installed Spotty on my NAS today and played music for several hours
without any issues, so I'd expect that this wouldn't change if I
upgraded to 7.9., no?
