If your NAS runs Spotty ok and there is a proven upgrade path to 7.9.1 then go for it. It's a problem when the NAS doesn't have the necessary SSL support or the CPU won't run Spotty but if those are both OK then shouldn't be an issue. Check the ReadyNAS forums and here about SSL.
