IMHO that's not true. I've got a Raspbian installation with an uptime of 14 days. Yet there are files from May in the log folder. And this is the first time I hear about this, though there must be hundreds or rather thousands of Raspbian based installations out there (eg. max2play).
What Raspbian version are you running? Any particular configuration option you used?
