It is a remote ssh connection and so functionality is that of Windows command prompt but is accessible from all OS's that support ssh and it's security is known. Without paying for additional s/w, to do a GUI connection to a Windows system I think you need a second Windows system and then use Windows Remote Desktop Connection - security used to be a bit dodgy - I'd hope it's better nowadays .
