Yesterday I've been keeping an eye on my LMS and its log. First of all I had switched off my antivirus. And I've noticed that there are regular periods of time (lasting for few minutes +) when the LMS fails to respond normally to any operation. It doesn't matter what I do - open "Music Folder", or "Artist", etc. Maybe the LMS rescans the music library? In the setting rescan is scheduled on 3 a.m. everyday.
