Just to let everyone know that the system has been working fine all this
time, with problems now and then related to changes in IP address on my
local network that require updating the fstab file on Arch Linux and
fiddling with the not-too-user-friendly SoA interface.

Then about two weeks ago the Wandboard suddenly became unfindable on the
network. I wrote to TechNexion's tech support and their answer was,
basically "Your device is not under warranty and it would cost you a lot
to send it to Taiwan for diagnosis, so we suggest you just buy a new
one." That's all. No other advice to give.

I saw on a Wandboard forum that the power supply can go, so I tested
mine and sure enough it was bad. I replaced it with a decent-quality
multi-voltage supply (still under 20€ including shipping) so I'd have
something I could use elsewhere if the Wandboard turned out to be dead.
But as soon as I plugged in the new power supply the device became
visible again and can be contacted via WinSCP.

You would think that Wandboard tech support would have at least
suggested swapping out the power supply, especially since people on
their own forum systematically suggest that as a first step. And you
would think they would be wary of the impact an answer like the one they
gave me can have on their brand image. Apparently not.

Unfortunately my ReadyNAS NV+ has also stopped working, so until I get
that sorted out I won't be able to see if my LMS on Wandboard + SoA +
ReadyNAS NV+ is still much faster than LMS on ReadyNAS NV+ alone.

Salutations to all,
Les
