I spent a lot of time trying to install SqueezeOnArch, and then was told by Roland0 (thank you, Roland) that since I have a Touch all I really need to install is LMS. Duh. So I installed ' ARCH-AUR-REL.7.9.2.arch2' (https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/logitechmediaserver/) from the AUR, and once I found the setting in the server.prefs file that needed changing from the default, I was able to log in and launch a scan.
In the process I've learned a good deal about Linux, so the time spent stumbling about has not been entirely wasted. It's all documented 'at the end of the original SqueezeOnArch thread' (https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?101624-Announce-Squeeze-on-Arch-developer-version&p=949995&viewfull=1#post949995). Another thing I've learned is that a ReadyNAS running four HDDs is overkill - for a music collection, anyway. A Wandboard or Pi, etc. uses much less power, and I plan to copy my whole collection over to a 5-Tb 2.5-in. HDD, which will draw even less power. And LMS runs much faster on the Wandboard than it ever did on the NAS. And the whole setup costs less than the NAS. Good listening to all, and may our species evolve to find true peace.
