First of all I'd recommend you try to start in safe mode. This option is available from the control panel and will disable all 3rd party plugins. Does that change behaviour (both startup and scan)?
RemovePlayedSongs is flooding the log with warnings and backtraces. You should ask the author to update the plugin...
