I've done it the other way round, it works with full text off, and no playlists excluded. I've now excluded all bar the 7 playlists I want and restarted full text. The scan is running, but it is somewhat slow which I'm guessing is because it's starting from scratch.
If it runs quicker on the second scan I may keep full text, but we'll see. It's funny this obviously isn't the first machine migration I've done over the years, and for some reason I completely forgot to exclude the unwanted playlists, something I've done in the past.
