It is currently working after updating to LMS 8.0.0
Thanks also to the replies I noticed that my mysqueezebox.com favourites are all defined as http and not https URLs. However I am confident that is not the main issue as the same problem happened when using the TuneIn app to browse to the same stations. The fact it is currently working is good news but not (yet) a confirmation 8.0.0 is the fix, it had a brief reliable period after upgrading to 7.9.3 as well.
