Which I'm pretty sure that the software also does when the input is flac already, so it's not a simple `dd` or other type of byte range dumping.
@Michael - just a thought: If LMS does handle the REPLAYGAIN directives, that surely must imply that it transcodes to PCM to apply that volume adjustment, but then how does it send the stream to the player?
