I have to say that there is some very dubious advice being spouted
here.

First a MESH WiFi is only ever going to provide any real benefit if you
have 2 or more MESH devices. With only one device it’s really nothing
more than a WAP.
MESH works by transferring clients to the strongest available route.
This may not be the nearest device as it may be too busy with other
clients.
Devices can operate in 3 Mesh modes
MESH Root
MESH Node Wired
MESH Node Wireless

Second there have been numerous posts about SB devices not playing
nicely with WiFi6 so steer clear. Can you send the Orbi back?

I don’t know the Orbi but I can say that the Draytek Vigor AP903 which
is WiFi5 MESH device plays nicely with my SB devices.
I have 2. One is a MESH Root the other is a wired MESH Node. I use a
separate Router without WiFi (it could be a Router with the WiFi turned
off)

Above someone suggests switching off WiFI on T-Mobile, leaving DHCP on
and plugging Orbi wan port to lan port on T-Mobile. This is double Nat.
It will allow clients on Orbi to connect to clients on T-Mobile but not
the other way round.

The following is better.
Turn off WiFi on T-Mobile.
Leave DHCP on.
Give Orbi a static IP address on its LAN that matches the T-Mobile
network eg if T-Mobile is 192.168.1.1 make the Orbi 192.168.1.2
Turn DHCP off on Orbi.
Plug Orbi to T-Mobile LAN port to LAN port.
The T-Mobile becomes a non WiFi Router
The Orbi becomes a network switch with WiFi
You will then have 1 network range and clients connected to each router
will see each other,
