Not sure if this was ever stated in the thread but LMS can definitely
stream MQA files at least on squeezelite. In fact I don't think LMS
cares either way as MQA just looks like PCM to LMS I am pretty sure.

I use latest PiCorePlayer on Pi4, USB DAC (Cambridge Audio DacMagic
200M) and LMS on separate linux server.

Plays MQA with a blue led on the DAC. I only tested this file
http://www.lindberg.no/hires/mqa-2018/2L-038-original-2006_01_stereo.mqa.flac
as I have no real interest in MQA.

I do believe the issue with the DragonFly Red is that it is only an MQA
renderer: it needs an earlier device in the chain to do the core decode.
I don't think any LMS player can do that. My Cambridge DAC can do the
complete decode so LMS only needs to send the original MQA file and not
do anything special. For Dragonfly you need a computer (or phone)
running appropriate software like Tidal's client app to do the core
decode prior to sending it to the DAC.
