LMS player are streamed and have no internal SSD - they just have internal memory buffers.
The LMS arechitecture is to play one "song" at a time. A "song" can be a file or an internet radio station or podcast. Near the end of a "song", LMS will setup the playing of the next "song" in the playlist and arrange data to be sent to player so there is no gap in the data streams. There is an input buffer for undecoded data and and output buffer for decoded data. The buffers are limited in size and limited by memory of the device (i.e no SSD or hard drive usage) For soft player (e.g. Squeezelite) it is possible to increase the size of either/both buffers so large they could contain most "song"s which are files and podcast - but it will only be one "song" and not a playlist. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=115878 _______________________________________________ Squeezecenter mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
