"I guess I should clarify that. Yes, you can run SoftSqueeze without
having your SlimServer computer on. SoftSqueeze is an independent
application and you'd download it from:

https://sourceforge.net/project/show...roup_id=105169

Make sure you have Java installed on the PC you want to run this from.

Then you can stream from SqueezeNetwork.

However you can also install and run SoftSqueeze directly from
SlimServer. I find this to be much easier. It's been a while since I
used the direct download, but when I tried it I couldn't get it to
run.

Note that SoftSqueeze will behave just like a Squeezebox in terms of
what it can play, but if you're not using it with SlimServer, it will
only support the formats SqueezeNetwork can support - that's MP3 and
some WMA streams. If you're just looking to play Internet radio, it's
best to use Winamp or foobar. Much lighter on resources and you can
enter URLs into them much more directly. SoftSqueeze is great for
accessing your own SlimServer from an external location or your LAN but
it isn't a general-purpose stream player. That's not what it was
designed for."

Many thanks...As soon as I get back from the store I will download and
install SoftSqueeze...I already have Java on my PC, hopefully its the
right one. Do you have that link that I can test the Java ?

Just tried the download link for SoftSqueeze...that this error
message...

404 Error - Page Not Found
You may have used an outdated link or may have typed the address (URL)
incorrectly.

Maybe I can search for the download there...
