Sad though it may be, if there are 3 network music devices side by side
in a store - Sony, Philips & Slim. What one do you think the average
Joe Bloggs is going to pick?

At least by using the Logitech brand name, there is some recognition by
the customer that they are getting a decent product.
For non-savvy users, that will be a deciding factor. It's almost
impossible to compare the spec of these devices.

The Transporter is probably different in that you'd expect people who
spend a lot of money on high end equipment to make a more informed
choice and the purchasers tend to be more used (in fact probably
desire) more esoteric brands. That would be like taking the badges off
a BMW.

However, the way I see it, the more sales the more money to invest in
new features.
