Andy et al, i had so many problems stting up a SBR for the first time at my parents i can't list em all...
i started with a fw19 SBR and if i hadn't had my own SBC with me, i don't know if i would ever have got it working. (the ethernet port seemed useless) i also signed up for SN during install, and it never said i was to get an email to activate my account. therefore i didn't know why i couldn't log in to the site, (or eventually could log in but not sync, not sure)... when i finally saw the email, and clicked the link, i got no visual confirmation that the account was now actually activated... i assume it is, but i'm not sure, b/c it doesn't say anywhere onsite, and i don't recall when exactly it let me in, but that could be coincidence anyway. another issue was the site seemed to let me in, but the SC sync wouldn't take my info, saying the accunt didn't exist. this was not explained either... how could i be in the site without SC accepting the sync login info? it gave no indication of needing to authorize an account via email link if indeed that was the issue. yet another issue is the SBR for some reason doesn't have its own Pin number printed on itself... i had to use the SBC to get it and tie it to SN. that sucks. and it was confusing to figure out where the pin number was, that i could even get it on the sbc and where to navigate to get to it. the menu system seemed to duplicate the choices. being the slimpert i am, ;) i eventually got it all working without abusing support or the forums, and have 7.3.2 on their setup with a single SBR fw56 and nothing else. i also spent time fixing ther tags and so on, and set a fave link on his laptop so he can use that as a remote control for now. but there is no way on earth my parents could have got this going. just too hard, period. having said all that, now working its a huge improvement over the RCA lyra wireless i had gotten him 5-6 years ago, and i think he'll love it, but i thought this feedback would help slim out a lot, esp SN. -- MrSinatra www.LION-Radio.org Using: Squeezebox2 (primary) / SBR (secondary) / SBC - w/SC 7.3.1b - Win XP Pro SP3 - 3.2ghz / 2gig ram - D-Link DIR-655 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ MrSinatra's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2336 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=57592 _______________________________________________ squeezenetwork mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/squeezenetwork
