That would be the cynical view :)  The official line is just that it's
hard/impossible to do a setup process with only one button and a
colored light for input/feedback. As we've discussed, you could make a
default which would work in some situations, but it would be guaranteed
not to in others. That's pretty nasty from a support point of view. The
SBC (ideally) allows for nice easy steap by step setup in any
environment. They could do a supported version of NetUDAP which
required you to wire it initially and run the setup utility, I've seen
other devices do that, but I guess they just decided it's not worth the
developer resources.
