The problem I had trying to use it the one time I tried was the same as you mentioned - the ethernet port seemed very reluctant to power up. I kept having to reset the thing and every so often it would link and I'd have to try and get the commands sent before it gave up again. Got it in the end and now it's wired 100% of the time, but non-SBC setup is not for the faint hearted!
